Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is an easy, non-invasive procedure that can brighten teeth and remove discolouration to create a more attractive, confident smile. We are regulated by the General Dental Council and are qualified to carry out tooth whitening treatments.  We can offer safe, effective whitening so you can rest assured that you are in very good hands.

Dental professionals are only permitted to sell products that contain a maximum of 6% hydrogen peroxide. Over-the-counter products that do not require the supervision of a dental professional may contain only 0.01% hydrogen peroxide. These products are ineffective in whitening the teeth as the concentration of peroxide is too low.

Dental professionals can prescribe up to 16% carbamide peroxide. In the presence of water, carbamide peroxide degrades into urea and hydrogen peroxide. Any given volume of carbamide peroxide will yield 35% volume of hydrogen peroxide when it breaks down.

After an assessment we will be able to tell you whether whitening is suitable for your teeth and what results you can expect. Please be aware that fillings, crowns, veneers and denture teeth won’t whiten.

If whitening treatment is right for you then we will explain fully what is involved. Please note that as for most cosmetic procedures tooth whitening is a private treatment. For further information about the products we use at this practice be visit Boutique Whitening here.
